Description: Here is a very nice cartridge produced by Samuel Jackson in 1865. These cartridges were made of tinned iron wrapped in paper. The majority of these cartridges that you will see have a dark stain towards the base or the middle of the cartridge. This is due to the oxidized tin sleeve leeching through the paper. This cartridge is in excellent shape and has not been lacquered.
